Dental Crown and Bridges in Dubai Silicon Oasis

A dental crown caps and protects a damaged tooth, while a dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the teeth beside the gap. Both restore the strength and appearance of your smile, and both are colour-matched to look completely natural. I’m Dr Shreya Rajkumar, and I provide crowns and bridges at Sofia Smile Clinic in Dubai Silicon Oasis and DentaZone in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow.

This page explains what crowns and bridges are, when you might need one, and how they compare to alternatives like implants. They’re part of my wider dental services.

What is a
Dental Crown ?

A crown is a custom-made cap that covers a tooth entirely, restoring its shape, strength, and appearance. I usually recommend a crown when a tooth is cracked, heavily filled, worn down, or has had root canal treatment — situations where a filling alone wouldn’t be strong enough. Because each crown is matched to your natural tooth colour and shape, it blends in rather than standing out.

What is a Dental Bridge?

A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by using the teeth either side of the gap (or implants) as supports, with a natural-looking false tooth “bridging” the space. As well as restoring your smile and your ability to chew, a bridge stops the neighbouring teeth from drifting into the gap over time.

When You Might Need a Crown or Bridge

  • A tooth that’s cracked, broken, or badly worn
  • A large old filling that’s weakening the tooth
  • A tooth that’s had root canal treatment
  • One or more missing teeth you’d like to replace without an implant or denture
  • A discoloured or misshapen tooth you’d like to restore (a cosmetic crown — part of cosmetic dentistry)

Crown & Bridge Materials

Modern crowns and bridges are usually made from tooth-coloured porcelain or ceramic, which look the most natural and are ideal for teeth that show when you smile. For back teeth that take heavy chewing forces, stronger materials may be used. I’ll recommend the best material for the tooth’s position and your bite at your consultation.

The Procedure —What To Expect

Most people are nervous about two things: whether it will hurt, and how long it takes. Here’s exactly how the process works with me.

Bridge or Dental Implant ?

p>Both replace missing teeth, and each suits different situations. A bridge relies on the neighbouring teeth for support and is usually quicker; a dental implant replaces the tooth root itself without involving the adjacent teeth, and tends to last longer. Because implants are my main focus, I can talk you honestly through which option is genuinely better for your case — not just the quicker one.

Caring for Crowns and Bridges

Crowns and bridges are looked after much like natural teeth — brushing, flossing (including under a bridge with the right floss or a small brush), and regular check-ups. Avoid biting very hard objects, and mention any night-time grinding so I can protect your restoration. With good care, quality crowns and bridges last many years.

Frequently Asked Questions Answered

If you are in need of high-quality, professional and friendly dental care, look no further than our clinic.

A crown covers and protects a single damaged tooth, while a bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring to the teeth (or implants) either side of the gap.

With good oral hygiene and regular check-ups, quality crowns and bridges commonly last many years, and often well over a decade. Longevity depends on your care, bite, and habits like grinding..

The procedure is carried out under local anaesthesia, so most patients feel little to no discomfort. Any mild sensitivity afterwards is normal and usually settles within a few days.

It depends on your teeth and goals. A bridge is often quicker and uses the neighbouring teeth for support; an implant replaces the tooth root without affecting adjacent teeth and tends to last longer. Dr Shreya will advise which genuinely suits your case

Brush and floss as normal, cleaning carefully around and under a bridge, keep up regular check-ups, and avoid biting very hard objects. A night guard is recommended if you grind your teeth.
